Kozemar - Dying Light
Saraja, the Great Temple
When Saint Karamati planned the creation of the Great Crystal, he also called for the construction of a temple suitable to house it, but the scale of construction made it impossible to create a completely inclosed building. Instead, builders from across the world came together at the site of the Pillars of Creation to create an enclosing wall that separates the Pillars from the rest of the peninsula.
The Temple Wall is over one hundred feet high and nearly half a mile long, in a graceful, gentle curve across the peninsula. It is decorated on both sides with thousands upon thousands of high relief figures – animals, men and women, and representations of many places in Kozemar. The wall’s decorations on the “exterior” – the direction facing the approaching pilgrims – serve as a visual history of Kozemar up to the time of the Darkness. Those on the “interior”, facing the Great Crystal, are in postures of rapture and adoration for the instrument of their salvation.
